  • Dr. Amr Mohamed joined the Center for Fundamental Physics (CFP) on 1 January 2014. His research interests include computational physics and Monte Carlo methods development. He is also an Adjunct Professor at the Nuclear and Radiation Engineering Department, Alexandria University.
  • Prior to joining CFP, Dr. Mohamed worked as a Research Scientist in the Nuclear Engineering Division at Argonne National Laboratory, USA.
  • Dr. Mohamed obtained his Master's and Ph.D degrees in Nuclear Engineering from The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1992 and 1994, respectively.

A professor of geochemistry and mineralogy of rocks at the Faculty of Science, Ain Shams University. Head of the Department of Natural and Biological Sciences at the Institute of Environmental Studies and Research, Ain Shams University, and Head of Geology Division, Faculty of Education, Banha University. Shams Al-Din has many experiences and membership committees, where he was appointed an expert to cultural policies and cultural diversity in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), chosen as an expert Arabic Language Academy in 1987. A member of the Egyptian Academy of Sciences (Lifetime Membership) and of the Arabic Language Academy, as a Rapporteur of the Scientific Culture Committee of the Supreme Council of Culture to date. Chairman of the Non-Cultural Heritage Committee, Member of the Youth Committee of the National Commission for UNESCO. A member of: Geological Society of America; British Geological Society; National Committee for History and Philosophy of Science, Academy of Scientific Research and Technology; Board of Directors of the Egyptian Society for the Arabization of Science. A member of the Writers Union Association. Editor of the MAP for Man and the Biosphere, which was published by UNESCO. Participated in the editing of many encyclopedias (Knowledge Circuits) in Jordan, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. Dr. Hafez has also worked as a senior advisor to an international mineral wealth company for the exploration, exploration and exploitation of non-metallic minerals such as glass sands and gypsum, as well as rocks used in the cement, ceramics and metal industry industries.

Hussein Abaza

  • Hussein Abaza is the Director of the Association for Environmental and Community Development (ACED), the Centre for Sustainable Development Solutions (CSDS), he also is a Counselor for the State Minister of the Environment. Hussein received a B.A in Economics from the American University in Cairo (1973), and M.Phil. in Urban Housing Planning from the University of Bradford, United Kingdom (1981). Currently involved in research on Sustainable Development at the Erasmus University, the Netherlands. Hussein joined the United Nations Environment Programme in 1982, and functioned in different capacities, including Chief of the UNEP Economics and Trade Branch. Hussein is currently a member of the Egyptian Council for the Environmental Sciences, Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, member of the Committee on the Environment, the Egyptian of Higher Council for Culture, and a member of the Egyptian Think Tank for the preparation of a Solid Waste Management Strategy and Action Programme for Egypt, member of the Green Economy Working Group of the Ministry of Planning to prepare input for the Sustainable Development Strategy for Egypt, member of the Committee of Natural Resource Conservation of the Scientific Academy of Research. Abaza worked as the Chief Executive Officer, of a United Nations Physical and Urban Planning project in Saudi Arabia (1973-1979), Managing Director of the Center of Planning and Architecture in Cairo, Egypt (1980), and Manager of the Islamic Investment Company, Central and Northern Region, Saudi Arabia (1981).

Hussein Mansor

  • Dr. Hussein Mansour is currently, the first chairman of the National Food Safety Agency that established in Egypt since July 1st, 2017. Dr. Mansour promulgate and embraced the idea of changing food safety systems in Egypt and the establishment of a national authority for food safety since 2003. He lead the project that officially began in 2007, under the of Ministry of Industry and Trad. He served as the Agricultural Minister Plenipotentiary & Head of the Agricultural Office at the Embassy of Egypt in Washington, DC. for 6 years. Dr. Mansour has over 40 years of experience as an agricultural scientist,former dean of Agriculture College at Ain Shmas University research management coordinator, and educator in Egyptian and Middle Eastern institutions (Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Syria and UAE). He has a broad experience in international agricultural development programs through his engagements with CODEX, SAID, FAO, CARDA, ACSAD and number of other international organizations. In 2016 he was elected as the chairman of Arab Food System Experts. Dr. Mansour has organized and chaired many international workshops and conferences on agricultural development, genetic diversity and animal conservation. He has served as the technical leader on several nation-wide animal genetic improvement projects in the Middle East. In addition, he assisted in the establishment of the Egyptian National Agricultural Library (ENAL). He also established a number of information and computing laboratories in the Egyptian Universities and Ministry of Agriculture. Dr Mansour is one of ten scientists who contributed to the formation of the Arab Science and Technology Foundation (ASTF) in Sharjah, UAE . Dr Mansour is originator of adapting the concept of Milk HUB in Egypt. He has over 50 scientific publications in refereed international and Egyptian journals, and the author of five books in Agriculture and Food legislations.

  • KHALED NEGM HAS OVER 30 YEARS OF SECURITY AND PROTECTION EXPERIENCE STARTING WITH THE ACADEMIA, RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT IN 1992. Khaled is a holder of Ph.D., in Theoretical Elementary Particle Physics, SMIEEE, ACM Fellow and holds more than 15 certifications in Information Security, Forensics, Security Audit, Security Governance an Enterprise Architecture. Negm served in IBM for 12 years as a Global Information Security Lead, 5 years ISS as Technical Director for Central Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEEMEA). 15 years in Academia, in Ain Shams University and visiting scholar for several universities and federal labs in USA, Italy, Belgium and UK. Negm is also a review member of the IEEE Technical Committee of Security Standards, member of the Technical Computer Communication Committee, peer reviewer for IEEE Security and Privacy and Co-Editor of the International Journal of Network Security (USA). Dr. Negm have more than 45 published papers and 22 patents. Participated as a member and consultant in several legislative committees and forums to compile digital crime laws and digital privacy laws under several types of jurisdictional systems as Anglo Saxon, French, and Italian based.

Mustafa Fouda

  • Minister Advisor at Ministry of State for Environmental Affairs. Ph.D. in marine Biology - Bristol University( 1974-1979); Head of fisheries and marine science at Sultan Qaboos university, Oman,; Director of Nature conservation Egypt, national focal points of several conventions such as CBD, RAMSAR. A member of Multidisciplinary Panel (MEP) of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) and also member of the Animal Committee of CITES. He is the chairman IUCN National Committee and member of SCOPE National Committee at the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology and is a member of the center of environmental studies at Alexandria Bibliotheca. He is Chair and Co-chair of several international and regional marine workshops (EBSA, Invasive species of CBD, MPAs). He joined the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency (EEAA) as Director of Nature Conservation Sector (NCS) in February 2000. His work involved implementation of the National Biodiversity Conservation strategy and Action Plans through developing and managing a network of 30 protected areas (about 15% of Egypt's territory), Biodiversity Development, and Egypt's commitment to international and regional agreements and conventions dealing with Environmental protection and nature conservation. The National Focal Point for several international conventions (e.g. Biodiversity, CMS, Ramsar).

Sherif S. SADEK

  • 1991, and till today, he was assigned as the creator and general manager of the firm "Aquaculture Consultant Office (ACO)".
  • Sadek has been nominated as a consultant for different projects in North Africa and Arab countries.
  • 2010 he is a partner and the general manager of the Egyptian-Franco marine culture company (Egymarine co.), in Manzala lake, Egypt.
  • He has published around 40 complete scientific papers in different international journals and also 35 short papers in different local and international aquaculture conferences.
  • Sadek has been nominated to be the vice president for two Egyptian NGO organization: Egyptian Aquaculture Society (EgAS) and West Port-Said Aquaculture Cooperative (WestPAC).
  • 2019, Sadek has been nominated the President for the African Chapter (AC), which belong to the World Aquaculture Society (WAS), for the coming two years. The AC will look for the development of the African aquaculture countries in the continent.

Walid Tawfik

  • Professor Walid Tawfik is the leader of laser spectroscopy and ultrafast lasers group and head of main lab at the National Institute of Laser (NILES), at Cairo University, Egypt. He received his PhD on 2000 in laser spectroscopy "Study of photon molecular interaction dynamics using short laser pulses where he did his experiments at Technical Uni. Munich, Germany. He is interested in the fields of laser induced plasma spectroscopy, ultrafast lasers and ultrafast spectroscopy. He, has published two books' chapters and around 50 papers. He is a senior member of different international professional societies like IEEE, OSA, APS, and SPIE. He has been collaborated with different international groups in laser spectroscopy and ultrafast lasers at Georgia Tech USA, Uni. of Electro-Communications Japan, POSTECH Uni. South Korea, Kind Saud Uni. Saudi Arabia, Max-Planck Inst. Germany and Lodz Uni. of Tech. Poland.
